Full description
This crow idol is made primarily from black porcelain with an addition of a white porcelain crescent moon sprig. Astrum's moon sprig has been sculpted independently and carved into a laughing face, while the surrounding stars have been painted with white porcelain slip. The white porcelain elements have been enhanced with enamel. Astrum's feathers transform into a complicated abstract of hand carved diamond-like scales.
Astrum is a lunar idol. On his right side is a black eye highlighted in white slip that sees into the darkest night. Whether the moon waxes or wanes, Astrum sees all that is there.
DIMENSIONS: 8cm high, 7cm wide and 13 cm long.
MATERIALS: black porcelain, white porcelain, white enamel.
