Always extinguish candles before leaving a room or going to sleep. - Keep candles away from flammable materials such as curtains, bedding, paper, and decorations. - Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, vents, and fans. - Keep out of reach of children and pets. - Trim the wick to about a quarter inch (6 mm) before each use to prevent excessive flame and soot. - Do not burn a candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time. Allow it to cool before relighting. - Ensure candles are spaced at least a few inches apart to prevent overheating. - Use a proper candle holder designed for the candle being used. - Stop using the candle when about half an inch (1 cm) of wax remains at the bottom. - Extinguish candles safely using a snuffer or by gently blowing them out—never use water.
