Inspired by a curiosity with making knitted jewellery, I began by knitting simple, geometric shapes, using a fine, hand dyed yarn in subtle shades of lilac and lavender.
Using a vibrant contrasting thread, I embroidered two triangles together, as I realised that only using one didn't give me the firm body that I needed to add buttons and beads.
These were fun to make - something that is reflected in the finished article.

Full description
These gorgeously colourful earrings are crafted from fine, hand dyed yarn, giving them a unique character not found in mass produced jewellery. They hang approximately 8cm but are extremely lightweight so are very easy to wear.
Each earring is made from two hand knitted triangles - the front one has been adorned with a selection of tiny buttons and beads (that mirror each other) before being sewn to the second triangle, using a contrasting embroidery thread. A larger button was then sewn to the inverted triangle, before being attached to the earring fixings.
The earring hooks are made from anodised aluminium, a hypo-allergenic metal that has been heat treated to produce a rainbow effect. A coloured aluminium ring forms the link between the earring body and the hook. Flower shaped rubber stoppers are provided to prevent the earring from being accidentally pulled out.
Presented in a white, glossy gift box; perfectly sized to post through a letterbox.
