I wanted to create a drawing board that felt as carefully made as the artwork produced on it. Many drawing boards available today are very plain, so I set out to design something more like a crafted object. The inspiration came partly from fine musical instruments, with clean binding lines, polished wood and careful detailing. The goal was to make a board that is both a practical studio tool and something an artist would enjoy using every day.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description
Most drawing boards are forgettable. This one is not.
The Rimmington-Bridges drawing board is designed for artists, illustrators, and designers who want a working surface that earns its place on the desk — not just functionally, but as an object worth owning.
The working face is smooth maple-toned ply: clean, light, and consistent. The sides are solid sapele, shaped and finished by hand, with a characteristic ribbon grain that catches the light. The back panel carries a deep instrument-style gloss lacquer in sapele veneer. Running around the entire perimeter is a fine white binding — the same detail language used in fine guitar-making — that separates face from edge with quiet precision.
Every board is finished and polished by hand in a small Yorkshire workshop.

FOUNDER'S FIRST BATCH
These boards are among the first to leave the workshop. Each one is built individually to the same specification, finished to instrument standard, and signed off before dispatch. Because of the level of finish involved, production time is approximately five months from order. Each board is worth the wait.
