Full description
Simple clock made from a piece of quarter-sawn Scottish Oak.
Quarter sawn is a method of cutting logs into lumber where the timber is cut radially, resulting in annual growth rings that are perpendicular to the board's surface. This can also result (as in this piece) in a lovely display of medullary rays in the wood.
Several coats of a natural oil finish have been applied to make the wood figure stand out.
Uses a small Quartz movement and takes one AA battery (supplied).
