Having been diabetic since the age of 10 I've always appreciated the choice of a non-chocolate Easter egg so I've created this lovely ever-lasting decoration as an alternative to confectionary with the bonus that it can be enjoyed all year round.

Full description

This fused glass Easter egg decoration is a delightful alternative to a chocolate egg and is a wonderful everlasting Easter gift that can also be displayed all year round. You could either gift it to someone special or add to your own home decoration.

I've created the decoration by cutting two egg shapes by hand from a yellow and clear streaky glass tile and a clear glass tile which have been fused together. I've then created the picture of a bunny sitting among flowers before fusing again to a temperature that gives the image a raised surface which adds further detail.

Each visit to the kiln for firing takes between 8 and 9 hours and I then leave the decoration in the kiln to cool naturally so it's actually in the kiln for c. 40 hours.

The decoration has a bail attached to hang it by a ribbon so it can be displayed in a window where the light will enhance the yellow glass, or against a wall.

The egg measures approx. 5.5cm wide at the widest point by 7.25cm high

Please be aware that due to variations in screen displays, the colours may appear slightly different in person to the photos you see on your screen.
