Living and working in rural Herefordshire, I’m constantly inspired by the quiet beauty of the countryside and the animals that shape it. Horses, in particular, represent strength, calm and connection to the land – something that feels increasingly important in today’s busy world.
This piece was created using ethically sourced pheasant feathers, repurposed to give new life to natural materials that would otherwise be discarded. By combining traditional countryside elements with a simple silhouette design, I wanted to create artwork that feels timeless, meaningful and rooted in rural heritage.
Each piece is made slowly and thoughtfully, allowing the natural colours and markings of the feathers to guide the final design – no two are ever the same.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

This handmade artwork features a horse silhouette carefully created from ethically sourced pheasant feathers, celebrating the strength, calm and beauty of rural life.
Each feather is individually selected and placed to follow the natural movement of the horse’s form, allowing the rich browns and markings to create depth and character. Mounted on textured art paper and finished with a clean neutral mount, this piece has a simple, timeless countryside feel that suits both traditional and modern country interiors.
Every artwork is completely unique due to the natural variation in feathers, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
