Full description

Handmade cushion covers made using our own original artwork which is printed onto an oatmeal coloured linen union and finished with a co-ordinating velvet or cotton weave backing and piping with a discreet zip closure at the base.

Each cover comes filled with a polyfibre pad and measures 45cms x 35cms, allthough dimesions may vary by a millimetre or two as these are all handmade by us in our workshop in the Scottish Highlands.

The image on the cushion is from a watercolour painting, done by us, of Iona Abbey with the Gaelic text from the first entry in Carmina Gadelica, which is a beautiful collection of prayers and hymns collected by Alexander MacKenzie (1832-1912) from around the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. This prayer called Rann romh Urnnigh can be heard being sung by Mairi MacInnes on a CD by William Jackson called INCHCOLM, which was actually the inspiration for this cushion.
