Full description
British badger original free motion embroidery on dark green cotton fabric in a 6 inch wood effect flexi hoop with hanger. Detailed wildlife art, built up with layers of thread on a basic sewing machine. The embroidery is stitched by eye and does not use a computerised process. The hoop is backed with 100% wool felt, embroidered with my name. PLEASE NOTE THIS BADGER WAS EMBROIDERED IN 2019, UNDER MY MAIDEN NAME.
Inspired by the badgers that barge in to my garden's side gate to get in to the garden, where they enjoy bird food dropped from the feeder and, unfortunately, they also have quite a taste for tulip bulbs!
Free motion embroidery is created by dropping the feed dogs (metal teeth) on my sewing machine and using a darning foot, to allow me to stitch in any direction. It is rather like oil painting; building up layers of colour, if I were to move the paper instead of the brush. It is often known as thread painting.
