Full description
Framed bas relief casting of sweetpeas created in my Derbyshire garden. This one-of-a-kind and unique casting shows the simple beauty of nature and captures a moment-in-time in the summer flower garden.
This casting was created by imprinting the sweetpeas and tendrils in natural clay and then cast in Plaster of Paris. The cast was then sanded and finished before being hand-painted in Farrow and Ball 'Dix Blue'.
The cast measuring has been mounted onto Daler Rowney (FATG approved and PH neutral) mountboard and added to a wooden deep box frame (FSC certified) which has been hand-painted in Farrow and Ball 'Manor House Grey'. The frame measures 192mm x 192mm (outer edge), 150mm by 150mm (aperture) and 35mm (depth). It also has a metal hook to the back for easy hanging.
Please note: Each casting is handmade and hand-poured so the thickness of the casting may vary between pieces and there may be minor imperfections. These add to the character of the piece.
One in a series of sweetpea castings in my Cottage Garden Collection.
