Full description
Two pieces of similarly shaped blue sea glass sourced from Scotlands beaches were used to make these stud earrings. Traditional silversmithing techniques were used.
Fancy Sterling Silver gallery bezel wire was measured and cut to fit the perimeter of each glass piece before being soldered. Sterling silver sheet was then soldered onto the bezel and filed to fit the bezel contour and finally ear posts were added.
After polishing the Sterling Silver the sea glass was fitted into the earrings and the bezel edges were curved gently around the glass.
The earrings measure approximately 1cm from top to bottom and 7 mm at their widest point.
It is very difficult to find two pieces of identically shaped glass but these pieces, although not exactly alike, are very similar in size and shape,
One earring has a 925 stamp and the butterfly backs are stamped SIL for silver and came from a reputable British bullion supplier.
All silver used is recycled Sterling Silver from the supplier mentioned above.
The earrings will come in the box pictured by Royal Mail Tracked 48.
