Thinking of carousels, candy floss and all the colours those thoughts conjured up, this hat grew intuitively as I knitted in the round, passing through the myriad of yarns, stitches, colours and textures until it ended at the tapered top, which I finished off with multicoloured "streamers".

Full description

Think funky, think fun and put your thinking caps on - but make it a "Mad Cap".

Using both a variety of stitch patterns and a funfantafabulous selection of colours, this cosy hat will keep you warm and is also guaranteed to spread a few smiles around.

Totally unique, there will never be another one quite like this, so if you like to be different, this is the hat for you!

Though fully washable, because so many different types of yarn have been used (acrylic, wool, mohair etc.), this hat is best washed on a cool cycle (preferably 20°) and left to dry naturally, reshaping whilst damp, if necessary.

Designed by Chrissie Bowron in Co. Durham
