In 1975, a small batch of heavy-duty stowage parachute bags was issued for RAF use, believed to be destined for Barracuda jets operating at the time. Designed for load, abrasion and reliability, these bags were never intended to be seen, owned, or reused.
Fifty years later, four of those bags remain.
Each has now been carefully reworked by hand into a functional overnight bag and companion toiletry pouch, preserving the original fabric, markings, and patina wherever possible. No two are the same. No further examples will be made.
Each bag is cut from original 1975 RAF stowage parachute material, complete with period markings and wear earned through service life. Two examples are accompanied by original documentation, including the transport box and correspondence addressed to the Commandant at RAF Headquarters.
These details are not decorative. They are evidence.

1975 RAF Parachute Stowage Bag One of Four Hand-Reworked Overnight Bag & Pouch
In 1975, a small batch of heavy-duty stowage parachute bags was issued for RAF use, believed to be destined for Barracuda jets operating at the time. Designed for load, abrasion and reliability, these bags were never intended for civilian ownership or reuse.
Fifty years later, four of those bags remain.
This piece is one of four carefully reworked by hand into a functional overnight bag with matching toiletry pouch. Original markings, patina and wear have been preserved wherever possible. No two are the same. No further examples will be made.
Two of the four pieces are accompanied by original documentation, including the original transport box and correspondence addressed to the Commandant at RAF Headquarters.
These details are not decorative they are evidence.
My role was not to redesign the original object, but to translate it for modern use, adding reinforcement and structure only where required.
Each bag is supplied with a numbered Certificate of Provenance.
