The journey of this piece began when I came across an old, weathered paintbrush that was well past its best for painting. Instead of seeing an item to be discarded, I saw a canvas with character. I felt compelled to build upon its history by integrating other aged and forgotten treasures—vintage watch straps, metal cogs, and keys. By unifying these disparate parts with a rich, rusted patina, I’ve given a 'retired' tool a second life as a sculptural relic."
