This piece was created during a period of personal loss. I found myself working in the quiet early hours, and the repetitive dot work became a way of settling my mind when sleep felt impossible.
While there was planning involved — drafting the composition, marking out the grid, and carefully forming the central face — the work was not rigidly pre-determined. As the hours passed and the rhythm of the dot work deepened, the piece began to take on a stronger presence of its own.
The elephant form gradually grew in meaning as the process unfolded, with the slow, meditative repetition offering steadiness and grounding through the making. The balance between structure and intuition became part of what the piece holds.

This original mandala painting was created as a focal piece for an inner altar or sacred space.
At its centre is a calm, watchful presence, surrounded by layered dot work and mandala pattern that emerged slowly and deliberately. The process was intuitive yet disciplined, allowing rhythm, symmetry, and stillness to guide the work rather than forcing a fixed design.
The surface is further embellished with subtle jewel accents, adding depth and gentle points of light that shift with movement and natural daylight.
The result is a piece that feels grounding and quietly powerful, intended for spaces used for reflection, rest, or intentional living.
