I used to go to cookery clases and I bought all the cookery tools and my wife said to me "What's this thing with holes and two hanldes?" I said "I'm going to write a poem about that!" which I did, it's the poem about a garlic press , that was my inspiration for writing poems about household objects! Before I wrote the poems for this book I asked myself - I enjoy writing poems - what can i write about that is different to what anyone else has written about? I said YES!
