Full description
Here is a colourful kitsch, upcycled charm necklace - a nostalgic toy statement piece of jewellery for a kidcore maximalist and a fan of found object clutter. I would also describe it as an aid to dopamine dressing, a rainbow accessory - bringing childhood memories and nostalgia from the 80s and 90s. One-of-a-kind jewellery.
Most of the charms have to be drilled in order to attach them to the chain. Featured is a blue birthday cake candle holder, a couple of Monopoly Hotels and Scrabble letters, a purple non-working purple watch as the centrepiece, a clockwork mechanical movement from an antique watch, a vintage lightweight carved, wooden green and yellow parrot earring, a blue Scottie dog, a yellow pencil sharpener and a little polymer clay doll wth a posy of flowers and dangly legs. I completed the length by making a chain of colourful zips, joined with rings.
Although I have made a number of this type of alternative necklace, no two are ever quite the same - so there won't be another one in the world exactly like it!
The total length is 18.00 inches approximately and it has been photographed at around 16.00 inches.
