Nestled inside a copy of Jane Eyre, this nook feels like stepping into Thornfield Hall itself after the tragic events of the novel have taken place. The pages curl with smoke and are singed from the fire that still smoulders beneath the bed—a quiet, amber glow casting dancing shadows across the room at night. Tiny furniture and delicate trinkets evoke characters and events from Bronte’s tragic world as you see the aftermath of keeping your first wife locked up in the attic!
