The inspiration for this piece came form the natural world, particularly the quiet yet fascinating lives of birds. Woodpeckers with their distinctive markings and rhythmic drumming have always captivated me. Their interaction with trees and their ability to bring life the quite forests is something I find beautiful.

This beautifully piece that features an image of a woodpecker perched on a tree bark, skillfully burned into the wood. The wood nurning technique adds texture and depth, bringing the bird and it's natural surroundings to life.
