A beautiful, one-of-a-kind, handmade wooden Trinket Box for storing some of your small, treasured possessions.
The material is Spalted Beech which has distinctive, irregular darker grain patterns which run through from the body to the lid. It also features a contrasting Veneer insert in the lid made of Maple Burr which is framed with a narrow ring of Ebony. All colours are those found naturally occurring in the wood.
Spalted Beech is one of my favourite woods because of its dark, irregular spalting lines which contrast with the mid brown tones of the rest of the wood. The spalting process is completely natural and occurs if the temperature and humidity are just right when the tree is first felled, or falls naturally. Microbes attack the sugars in the wood until it dries out leaving a unique pattern of dark lines in the grain.
The curves of this vessel are simple and elegant making it pleasing to look at from the side or from the top.
Size: Diameter: 5.6 Cm (2.2 inches) Height: 4.3 Cm (1.7 inches).
This beautiful box is finished with a quality paste wax for durability and protection from fingerprints.
This would make an excellent gift for any occasion or why not treat yourself.
Each piece is painstakingly finished, hand polished, and individually signed and numbered.
