Full description
A simple but beautiful shallow wooden bowl or dish made from Amboyna Burr Burl, made by me. It is a very attractive piece of wood with a lighter area around part of the edge, this is a naturally occurring colour graduation in the wood. The burr is of a very high quality featuring a random pattern of tight swirls. It has simple curves so as not to detract from the natural beauty of the wood.
Burrs are the gnarly irregular lumps that are sometimes seen on the trunk of a tree and the nice thing is that they are harvested completely sustainably because they just cut off the burr leaving the tree to continue growing unharmed.
Size: Diameter: 13.4 Cm (5.3 inches) Height: 2.0 Cm (0.7 inches).
This beautiful bowl is finished with a quality paste wax for durability and protection from fingerprints.
This would make an excellent gift for any occasion or why not treat yourself.
Each piece is painstakingly finished, hand polished, and individually signed and numbered.
