This Christmas card began life as a simple hand-drawn allium in my sketchbook — a flower I’ve always loved for its sculptural, firework-like shape. As I refined the illustration, those tiny clustered petals started to feel wonderfully festive, almost like delicate baubles waiting to be hung.
I followed that idea, redrawing the allium heads as ornamental shapes and adding gentle linework to capture the same airy lightness of the real flower. The design came together beautifully, especially on the deep navy background, where the gold foil brings out every little detail.
What began as a quiet botanical sketch slowly transformed into a piece of Christmas art — a little celebration of nature, glow, and winter magic.
