I create my paper lampshades to bring beauty, light, and calm into everyday spaces while keeping environmental impact as low as possible. As a self-employed artist and designer, I work with materials and tools I can manage from my studio, blending creativity with practicality. I’m continually inspired by the therapeutic qualities of nature—its shapes, textures, and calming presence—and this influences every design I make. I also enjoy working with repetitive forms and geometric shapes, which appear in some of my lampshades. Each piece balances craftsmanship, sustainability, and nature-inspired aesthetics, resulting in functional lighting that nurtures a sense of calm and wellbeing at home.
Safety information
Diamond Shade is a paper lampshade made from paper, hemp paper, and a plywood base. The plywood is treated with Flametect C-WDplus clear flame retardant to reduce fire risk. The shade is compatible with both Edison Screw (E27) and Bayonet Cap (B22d) ceiling fixings. Only use LED bulbs between 6–9 W. Do not use halogen or incandescent bulbs, as these produce excess heat. There is a minimum distance of 8 cm between the bulb and the paper shade (based on a 6 cm-wide LED bulb or smaller). Contains small parts; keep out of reach of children under 3 years. Assemble only as instructed to ensure stability. Bulbs and electrical fixings are not included; follow local electrical regulations during installation. Paper can be recycled in household bins; the plywood base can be recycled at local centres (check local guidance outside the UK).

Diamond Shade brings a gentle, modern glow into your home through its clean lines and layered paper construction. Four panels—two softly transparent and two more opaque—are woven together with hemp paper needles, creating a subtle interplay of texture when lit. Each piece slots onto a plywood base using a simple hook-and-groove design, so the shade can be assembled without glue or plastic. Most of the making is already done for you, leaving only a few calm, enjoyable steps to finish at home.
When illuminated, the crisp cut lines and sorbet-yellow tone create a refined geometric silhouette, giving the shade a quiet elegance that suits bedrooms, living rooms or workspaces. Made in the UK from FSC-certified, 100% virgin ECF fibre, the paper offers a soft, contemporary finish while remaining lightweight and easy to handle. The hemp paper needles add a decorative touch that complements the clean, structured form. Diamond Shade reflects my aim to design objects that feel both soothing and purposeful, grounding everyday spaces with gentle colour and warm, diffused light.
