This print captures a vibrant underwater scene featuring a playful orca swimming alongside the magical Isle of May. The island lies just off the East Neuk of Fife and is home to a huge array of seabirds, seals and sea life. Locals and tourists were thrilled to spot orcas here in the summer of 2025 and I was inspired to capture the moment in this painting!
The island’s iconic Stevenson Lighthouse sits proudly on the horizon. Built in 1816, it was engineered by Robert Stevenson, grandfather to Robert Louis Stevenson of Robinson Crusoe fame! The weather can change quickly around the island so I added a colourful rainbow, while a tiny sea urchin, a shoal of fish and swaying seaweed bring life to the rocky seabed below.

Come and explore the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland through whimsical watercolour illustrations of my favourite spots! I've tried to capture the joy of the Scottish seaside in my art, with its stunning beaches and cute, local animals. Each print is reproduced from an original painting that combines watercolour, ink, and coloured pencil.
