As a music lover and musician who grow up in the 70s and 80s I remember using these types of tapes quite often. Nowadays however, as this format is very much outdated, rather than seeing these in the landfill I decided to give them a second chance and a new purpose in life as a useful clock.
They may not sound amazing anymore but they do look great on your wall.

This 1970s reel-to-reel tape has been lovingly upcycled into a fully working wall clock.
A proper piece of vintage audio history given a new life. It won't play music any more but it will keep perfect time.
