How I started making terrariums

I had been retired for a few years and was looking for a way to use my time more constructively.
The opportunity came when I dismantled an old greenhouse which needed to go to the tip.
Some of the glass seemed too good to take to the tip so I kept it.
I was looking for a terrarium as a present at a local garden centre, I could not find anything suitable, they were all jars of one sort or another. The ones I did find, a house shaped one was expensive and rubbish.
I thought about the glass behind the shed and had a go at making one. They turned out quite well. After a while I was asked by friends and neighbours If I could make one for them.
After a while I started to sell on etsy to cover the cost of everything needed.
I have been with etsy for a few years If you open etsy platform with Terrariumforplants You can see the feedback for my work.
Decided to try folksy as it is for the uk crafters instead.

Glass Sempervivan Planter (hens and chicks)

These have been made with drainage gap in main body, supplied with tray for excess water if needed, These have been made with Sempervivum in mind, Better known as hens and chicks .

Be aware that these are made using recycled glass, So will have some scratches and marks on the glass due to past use. Using weathered glass, some glass may also have a blue mottled look which can't be removed. I use this glass for the bases.. As a one off design, these well may also include minor imperfections. On saying all this I wouldn't be selling unless I was happy with the finished result.
