Nanhong agate, also known as Southern Red Agate (Nan Hong Yu), is a stone that’s highly valued in the Far East for its bright red tones and is only found in the Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces of China. It’s considered a stone of luck, abundance and harmony in traditional Chinese culture.
I wanted to make its rich, red colour really pop, so for these earrings I've placed two 5mm nanhong rounds on silver headpins, linked them to some delicate sterling silver curb chain and added sterling silver posts and butterfly backs. Perfect for some everyday sophistication or subtle evening glamour!
