I have always loved witches, and black cats! I wanted to create a spooky, whimsical piece, drawing inspiration from classic imagery and witch-related fiction that I remember from childhood, such as Meg & Mog, and Bewitched.
I used a classic full moon and bright, galaxy colours to create a suitably magical backdrop for the main characters' adventure.

Full description
This A4 art print features my original painting Midnight Broom Ride, on 300 gsm matte card. The original work was created using mixed media: soluble wax pastels, acrylic paint, various pens and markers.
The scene features a witch and her familiar, a black cat, enjoying a ride on a broomstick through the starry night sky, passing in front of the bright full moon. It is whimsical and embraces magical, witchy, celestial themes.
