Abalone, also known as Paua shell, has roots in Maori mythology, as the shell of Paua is said to have been created as a gift from Tangaroa, the god of the sea. The shell is considered a taonga (treasure) and is used in various forms of Maori art and jewellery. Abalone is often thought to enhance intuition, promote emotional healing and a deep connection to the sea.
Here I've placed this natural abalone shell pendant onto black faux suede cord along with a small round abalone stone and silver plated wirework spiral. There's another tiny spiral at the end of the extender chain, topped with a tiny faceted black spinel stone.

Length of cord 18.5ins (47cm) with 1 inch (3cm) extender chain. The pendant itself measures approx 4cm in diameter.
