As a music lover and musician who grow up in the 70s and 80s I remember using these types of tapes quite often. Nowadays however, as this format is very much outdated, rather than seeing these in the landfill I decided to give them a second chance and a new purpose in life as a useful clock.
They may not sound amazing anymore but they do look great on your desk or wall.

This unusual wall / desk clock has been made using a vintage Ampex 407 reel-to-reel tape spool from circa 1980s.
The tape spool has been fitted with a Quartz sweeping action clockwork which runs smooth and quietly making it perfect for a bed side table.
