Sunflowers always stand taller than me in the fields. They never grew in the sunny cities I called home for half my life. Where I live now, the sun doesn’t shine so often, and I find strange kinship in these flowers. This piece was inspired by a surreal row of sunflowers against the sky over me in Japan.

Full description
This is a tribute to Van Gogh’s flowers, but thinking of the giant heads that lined the sky on my holiday in Japan.
Cyanotype with pastel.
The piece is around A6 in size, and should fit in an off-the-shelf A5 frame. I will ship the piece with stiff backing and wrapped in tissue paper for safety.
