I built a workshop in the Summer and had a quantity of wood left over.
Rather than use it as firewood, I decided to design and build a selection of these boxes
We attract a wide range of wild birds and like to keep them happy so we have them placed in various locations in the garden
These are substantial and sturdy and can be partially taken apart easily for cleaning if requred by simply removing 2 screws
Safety information
These boxes are constructed of reclaimed wood and care should be taken when handling in case of wood splinters

Robins are attracted to this design of nesting box - more so than the traditional style with the small entry hole which is more suitable for members of the Tit family
Choose a decent location in your garden for a Robin to nest in a bird box - see photos for examples
Robins prefer a nest box situated approximately 2 Metres High - Facing North East
Placement of the box is vital, but keeping the birds safe is your priority
Importance of Robin nest box placement is vital for attracting them to successfully setup home in your garden.
Always apply the usual rules for setting up a bird box; facing north/east so out of westerly winds and sunshine - all while burying box deep into ivy or leafy area.
This type of box may well attract the attention of Wrens - as they are also fond of this design
If you don't get regular visits to your garden from the Wren - then you should be in safe hands with only Robins nesting
Designed by Mr William Trevillion in South Darenth
