Full description
Cranberry glass was popular in the Victorian period. It was very expensive to make red colour glass because it required the addition of gold salts to the molten glass. This led to manufacturers using a thin layer of cranberry glass on clear glass in domestic glassware, as in this pendant. The coloured glass has worn away in the waves more towards the edge of the pendant, creating a special effect. We've enhanced the pendant by adding a pretty sterling silver heart, which looks lovely against the frosty glass.
The pendant is 20.5 cm high, 1.8 cm wide and 3 mm thick. It comes on a 46 cm (approx. 18 inches) fine sterling silver trace chain. If you would prefer a different length chain please let us know what you would like.
Our jewellery is individually hand made in Chudleigh, Devon. We collect our materials ourselves, mainly from local beaches. Each piece of glass is unique, so each piece of jewellery is unique. We only use materials which have rounded edges, which is why we tumble pieces which have rough edges in sand (this continues the process begun by the waves) until they are smooth.
The pendant will be delivered by Royal Mail. We usually post items within one working day of receiving payment.
