Peonies floral Blackwork embroidery design available as a pdf download chart.
The download contains the design in a single colour; the traditional Black on White Aida.
Cross stitch and Blackwork should be simple and fun. The charts are therefore as simple as they can be, no complicated instructions, just pick up your needle and thread to sew. Blackwork, or Redwork as it's traditionally known is simply back stitch.
A pdf will be sent direct to your inbox so you can start stitching straight away.
Using Aida fabric or similar, the size of the finished design is: 14ct 19.2 x 19.2cm or 16ct 16.8 x 16.8cm.
STITCH COUNT: 106 x 106 stitches.
THREAD: There is just one colour of DMC 6 stranded floss. You can of course be as creative as you wish with alternative colours. Traditionally cross stitch is created using 2 strands of thread, so you will need to split your skein. Blackwork is traditionally stitched using 1 strand of thread.
To add a little more texture, try stitching the peonies with 2 strands of thread and the background Blackwork in a single strand; it'll make the flowers pop.
