This design was inspired by the much-loved British red squirrel a symbol of our native woodlands. The piece began as part of my degree show at Hereford College of Arts, where I explored the gentle, resting forms of animals and developed my style of hand-carved leather. My carving reflects my interests with capturing calm, natural shapes and translating them into tactile, lasting designs.
