I haven’t been working with glass-enamelled copper for long, but from the moment I first tried it, I was completely hooked. The possibilities are endless - limited only by imagination - and it is very addictive.

Glass enamelled copper pendant on a black leather cord with lobster clasp, handcrafted by myself in Wiltshire.
Enamelled copper jewellery involves applying powdered, coloured glass (enamel), which is lead-free, to copper pieces, and then firing them in a kiln at 800C multiple times to fuse the glass to the copper. 1 layer is fused to the back and 3 layers are fused to the front, with a firing required between each layer. This creates a durable, colourful design.
