This print was inspired by the glorious summer we have enjoyed in North Yorkshire and the golden wheat fields and spectacular views across The Vale of York towards The Yorkshire Dales.

Summer Swifts - Original handmade 8 layer, 15 colour reduction lino print of 10 flying swifts with a wildflower hedgerow with poppies and the view from the edge of the Yorkshire Moors across to The Dales from Upsall near Thirsk. Not a digital print but a completely Handmade and hand printed individual piece of original artwork on Hoshu Japanese printmakers paper made with quality Cranfield Caligo Safewash water based inks using a Sizzix Big Shot Pro craft printing press. Each of the 9 colour layers has been printed from the same block over a period of around 2 months as each layer dries and the block is carefully cut away and the next colour is printed. From a limited series of 30 prints each is individually hand made and has differing variations in tone and each is a unique piece of art.
