This piece forms part of my Year with the Harvest Mice collection. For winter, I wanted to capture not just the frost and snow, but the hush — that deep pause in nature that still feels alive. The harvest mice, tucked safely together, reflect resilience, warmth, and the beauty of slowing down.

This original watercolour captures the quiet and the stillness of winter through the world of harvest mice. Against a backdrop of soft snowy blues, three tiny mice nestle amongst frosted leaves and one hanging on some red berries, keeping each other warm in the coldest months.

Created with MeiLiang watercolours on Winsor & Newton cold-pressed 25% cotton paper - The red berries colours may evolve and mature with time if placed under direct sunlight, giving this painting the opportunity to age beautifully.
To best preserve the colours, I recommend displaying the artwork away from direct sunlight and framing with UV-protective glass. This piece is mounted in an A4 mount with A5 window, ready to slip into a standard frame for easy display.
