This piece was inspired by the beautiful unpredictability of the British summer. I wanted to capture both the vibrant colours and that moment of indecision we all feel when the rain comes: one mouse says, “are you coming?” while the other shrugs, “nah, I’ll stay — there’s bound to be a rainbow soon."

Celebrating the abundance of summer, this original watercolour shows the harvest mice as they are soaking up everything that summer brings — bursts of sunshine, sudden showers (these are definitely British Mice), and the beautiful mix of colours all around them. More importantly, they’re making friends and simply enjoying being alive. This piece captures the brightness and joy of the season, and the Honesty Seedpods felt like the perfect plant to reflect this!
Created with MeiLiang watercolours on Winsor & Newton cold-pressed 25% cotton paper, this artwork may gently shift in tone over the years — just like the ever-changing beauty of nature.
Mounted in an A4 mount with A5 window, ready for framing.
It's the perfect gift for a country home, or for someone who has everything.
To best preserve the colours, I recommend displaying the artwork away from direct sunlight and framing with UV-protective glass.
