I remember making Christmas tree decorations as a child, so it's something I've done for a long time! I particularly like the idea of decorating the tree using Fungi, because they are such beautiful forms and colours and always seem so other-worldly.
I use air drying clay to create approximately life-sized mushroom sculptures, focusing on UK varieties. I mix the paint up individually for each mushroom. Each one is a slightly different shape and colour. I want to bring the forager's enjoyment of mushrooms into these individual sculptures to create beautiful collections that reflect the special appeal mushrooms can have on those who love them.
