Full description

Aurora in Ruin

A cascade of fractured light, this piece captures the moment when beauty breaks and becomes something else—untranslated, uncontained. Teal and violet shimmer like the last breath of a celestial body, while streaks of orange and pink rupture through the surface like emotional fault lines. The textures—scraped, layered, and raw—suggest erosion not as decay, but as revelation.

It is a portrait of memory in motion: the aurora not as spectacle, but as aftermath. A signal forest blooming from static. A chrysalis glitching mid-transformation.

This is not the end of light—it is its reconfiguration.

I used:

16.5 x 23.4 inch canvas board

Ink

Watercolour

Pens

Acrylic paint

PLEASE NOTE: Monitor settings and colours may differ slightly, especially as these works are multi-tonal in different lights.
