Full description
I created this silver lichen twig necklace by recycling sterling silver offcuts and shaping them into a round twig-like branch. Along the twig, I’ve added tiny lichen details and set a raw nugget of peridot securely in silver claws, so it nestles naturally within the design.
Each necklace is one-of-a-kind – the silver forms and gemstone shapes are always slightly different, giving every piece its own character while keeping the overall size and look very similar. I especially love the organic, natural feel that raw peridot brings.
Peridot is the August birthstone, making this a thoughtful gift for a birthday. It would also be thought for an anniversary or even a Christmas gift for a nature lover.
The silver has been textured to resemble a real twig, with tiny lichen cups highlighted in 24ct gold foil using the ancient Korean keum boo technique. I’ve also applied a gentle patina to bring out the details. The pendant hangs neatly on a sterling silver chain, which threads through a hidden silver tube at the back – you can choose your preferred chain length from the menu. The diameter of the necklace is approximately 2.5 cm.
