Full description
a big fat zombie bee, surrounded by florals and berries. he's enjoying the last of the summer, as the season fades slowly into a golden autumn. he's also thinking about eating your braaains, but let's not focus on that too much.
one of a pair of big bees i made, as seen in the photos.
the illustrated parts are hand drawn, then coloured with ink, artists pens and watercolour paints, before being cut out, and layered onto the background. the background is made using a thin layer of painted tissue paper.
all layered onto a piece of my favourite indian khadi paper (handmade from recycled cotton rag, it has a lovely soft textured surface, and deckled edges.) the whole piece is then mounted onto an A6 sized piece of textured paper (300gsm), which i have painted with a paynes grey to give a dark surround/background.
A6 sized (10.5cm x 14.85m)
