Standing in my garden in 2024 and having a rare glimpse of the Aurora Borealis ( Northern Lights ) . The night sky was split into pink/red and green colours that shimmered. The lights are rarely seen as far south as Cambridgeshire and I thought the colours would look beautiful represented in a batt.

Art Batt for Spinning and Felting
Colour: Northern Lights
Batt contains the following Fibres: Merino Wool, Blue Faced Leicester Wool, Mulberry Silk, Recycled Sari Silk, Tussah Silk, Throwsters Silk, Angelina Sparkle Fibre.
Colours: Pink, Green, Amethyst, Navy, Red, Plum, Peacock
Weight: Batts weigh between 52g - 58g (1.8oz - 2oz) approx. Each batt is labelled with the individual weight.
Batt Dimensions: 30.5cm x 56cm (12" x 22" ) approx. and is made on a Drum Carder.
Uses: Spinning, Wet Felting, Needle Felting, Art Embellishment for Textile work. NB: Please be aware that recycled Sari Silk should be washed in COLD WATER ONLY as warm water causes the dyes to bleed. You will need to take this into consideration if intending to use the batt for felting and if being spun into yarn for a garment.
Each batt is hand carded, by me, on a Classic Carder's Drum Carder. I incorporate lots of Silk and Sparkle fibres to make my batts extra special. Easy to spin, either directly from the batt or can be pre-drafted through a Diz into a roving if preferred. Northern Lights has been built up over three layers. Each layer contains all the fibres used, so there is lots of Silk and Sparkle running through each batt, not just on the top layer. Rather than being rolled the batt is folded and packed flat in a cellophane bag for ease of posting. Orders for up to two batts are sent in an environmentally friendly mailing bag, orders for more are boxed.
