Sewing is a long-lost talent of mine. Well, my sister and I were the little elves for my mum's sewing business. We would cut the Butterick patterns, pin and cut them onto fabrics, but were never allowed to use the machine! She also did a load of quilting, bedspreads etc and sold them. I grew up in clothes my mother made; we never wore shop-bought clothes. She's still a brilliant seamstress, and now, I own a sewing machine, and I am loving it!
