Making small batch and one of a kind fused glass treasures on the north coast of Ireland.
We had some bumble bees nest in an old bird box last year and it was fascinating to watch them come and go. Sadly they have now gone but I was inspired to make a version of the bumble bee in glass. I hope you like my interpretation.

Full description
This project started with a sticky vinyl template attached to transparent glass which was then cut out using a special ring saw which can cut intricate shapes.
Body painted with enamels in black & yellow.
Hand drawn veins added to the transparent wings using glass paints.
Some glass frits added for texture and a hint of sparkle before firing in the kiln.
A silver plated jewellery bail has been attached, with a yellow satin ribbon for hanging.
Bring nature into your home with this unique one of a kind piece of glass art, sure to be admired by all. Suitable for hanging on a wall, window, door or just about anywhere.
