I love skulls and gothic ornamentation. This piece was an effort to create something big and ornate that combined my illustration and calligraphy; the swirling acanthus leaves, skulls, floral elements, decorative borderwork and a touch of red ink Blackletter calligraphy.

A 12 x 8 inch matte print of a hand-drawn black ink artwork; a skull surrounded by detailed, ornate decorations of swirling acanthus leaves, lily flowers, a banner that reads 'LA MORT' in red ink blackletter script, in a border of rows of repeating gothic-looking patterns.
