The lovely Sarah Payne design 'Birds of Paradise' was the inspiration for this piece. I enhanced the colours with red and blue.

I have created this traditional Double Irish Chain Design Quilt in classic Red, White and Blue. It features a lovely Bird of Paradise fabric by Sarah Payne. I created this design to showcase the beautiful birds and to bring a touch of exotic colour and movement. For this quilt I chose to create a pieced backing...a little surprise when viewed from the back.
I work from my small sewing room in the heart of England, I design, sew and quilt all of my work and each creation is unique and robustly made. The fabric is 100% quilting cotton and the wadding/batting is also 100% cotton.
It can be washed and dried on a cool setting in a domestic machine. As it ages it will become softer and more wrinkled to develop that traditional 'quilty' comfort.
