Full description
A textile art picture of a black cat created using strips silk fabric and wool fibres. The silk strips are needle felted onto a felt base and blended with wool fibres to create the background of the picture. The black cat has then been cut from black wool flat felt and needle felted into place. The needle felting process uses barbed felting needles to binds the fabric and fibres together without the need for stitching. The process also adds texture to the picture.
The picture size is approximately 4.5" x 2.5" and it has been mounted using an off white card mount. It is available to buy with just the mount or mounted and framed in a simple 6"x4" black frame. The frame has both a hanging hook and a prop stand on the reverse allowing it to be displayed either on the wall or a shelf.
Note: the frame is supplied glazed but the glass has been removed for photographs to avoid unwanted reflections.
