Full description
Five brightly coloured beach huts are the subject of this lovely silk and wool textile art picture. The picture is made using strips silk fabric and wool and silk fibres needle felted onto a felt base to create the background of the picture. The beach huts are then cut from flat felt and needle felted into place. The needle felting process, using barbed felting needles, binds the fabric and fibres together without the need for stitching. The process also adds texture to the picture.
The picture size is approximately 4.5" x 2.5" and it has been mounted using an off white card mount. It is available to buy with just the mount or mounted and framed in a simple 6"x4" black frame. The frame has both a hanging hook and a prop stand on the reverse allowing it to be displayed either on the wall or a shelf.
Note: the frame is supplied glazed but the glass has been removed for photographs to avoid unwanted reflections.
